South Norfolk Community Pub of the Year

Our pubs play a huge part in local life and South Norfolk Council's Community Pub of the Year awards are here to help recognise the impact they have on our community.

And the winner is...

On Monday 9 October the Green Dragon, Wymondham was announced as the overall winner of the 2017 Community Pub of the Year competition. 

The category winners are:

Category One (local population under 550): 

Wortwell Bell

Category Two (local population between 551 - 1100): 

Burston Crown

Category Three (local population between 1101 - 5500): 

Netherton House, Long Stratton

Category Four (local population over 5501): 

Green Dragon, Wymondham

The Green Dragon wins £500 toward a community event.

The three finalists each receive a performance hosted by Creative Arts East and the Inn Crowd.  These performances are sponsored by Pub is the Hub.

  • This year we have four categories, reflecting the population of the area in which the pub sits.  The pub with the most votes in each category will be a finalist.
  • Following a visit to the winning pub in each category, an overall winner will be chosen and revealed at a ceremony at last year's winning pub.
  • The overall winner will receive £500 to spend on an event for their community.
  • The award ceremony will be held on Monday 9th October 2017.
