Should residents have any concerns regarding the event, such as excessive noise levels, between those dates please contact the Resident Hotline on 0800 779 7116. This Hotline is provided only for residents to report concerns about the event during the dates above. Outside of those dates and for other information requests regarding the Sundown Festival please contact the organisers by email
We have been working with the organisers of the Sundown Festival to minimise the impact of noise levels from this event on residents.
We expect such music events to comply with the Noise Council code of practice on environmental noise at concerts and have advised the organisers of this. This guidance aims to strike a balance between the music noise levels required on site at a music event and level of the music noise at residents’ premises. In particular, it allows the music noise to be audible at residents’ premises during the daytime in return for much quieter levels during the night-time when residents will be wishing to sleep (i.e. from 23:00).
The organisers have employed an experienced noise consultant to monitor the Sundown Festival to ensure compliance with the code of practice. However, it is possible that due to weather effects etc. the loudest noise levels may not always occur at the predicted locations and where noise levels will be monitored during the events. Thus, residents notifying the organisers of any excessive noise levels on 0800 779 7116 will allow them to identify if this is the case and modify their noise monitoring and noise control arrangements if required.
Council officers will also be making visits to the area during the event to monitor the effectiveness of the organisers noise management and control arrangements.
