On Monday 18 march Long Stratton Leisure Centre throws open its doors following a £2 million improvement scheme.
The new up-to-date centre boasts a new 80 station gym with state of the art equipment, a new air conditioned fitness suite, new changing facilities and showers, a soft play area for children and a café.
Cabinet member Yvonne Bendle said: “This is a fantastic example of how South Norfolk Council is continuing to invest in the health and well-being of our residents. Long Stratton Leisure Centre will be a community hub, offering something for everyone and will be a great place for families and friends to spend time together. I am also delighted that the centre is dementia friendly, ensuring that those living with dementia and their carers will be able to take advantage of this fantastic facility.”
South Norfolk Council has recently invested £4 million in its Wymondham Leisure Centre and has also just opened a fantastic 3G football facility at kett’s Park, following an investment of £1.2 million.
To celebrate the opening the Council is giving away a year’s memberships to one lucky member. Everyone who joins before 18 April 2019, will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win this great prize.
The new centre offers a bright new multi-tiered Bananas Soft Play and toddler area, to keep little ones entertained while parents and carers enjoy a coffee and a catch up with friends in a new café - that will also be offering light lunches and healthy snacks.
A brand-new class programme featuring over 40 classes, will mean fitness enthusiasts will have plenty of choice and there really will be something for everyone.
