Come along to any of our free information sessions and gain some tools to help you make the most of the skills available within your community.

Pick N Mix monthly sessions

All monthly sessions are held in pubs across South Norfolk and will be on the last Thursday of every month (unless otherwise specified).  

How to get more volunteers and keep them

The Cock Inn, Diss, IP22 4BE - 31 January 2019
Arrive from 6:30pm for a 7pm start. This session will enable participants to understand why people volunteer and how to create roles that will play to their strengths.  It will also explore ways to develop, train, keep volunteers engaged and give them the recognition they deserve.


CPR and defibrillator awareness

The Swan Hotel, Harleston, IP20 9AS - 28 February 2019
Arrive from 6:30pm for a 7pm start.  This session will provide an overview of the basic skills required to perform CPR and use a defibrillator.  Hosted by East Anglian Air Ambulance, participants will leave feeling more confident in how to react when the need for CPR or the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) arises. 

How to set up a community group

The Crown, Costessey, NR5 0EX - 28 March 2019
Arrive from 6:30pm for a 7pm start.  This session will enable participants to set up their own community group, understand constitutions, find the right role for the right people and make sure that everyone understands why the group is doing what it is doing.  

Promoting your group or activity

Queens Head, Wymondham, NR18 0AR - 25 April 2019
Arrive from 6:30pm for a 7pm start.  This session will give you tips on what works and what doesn't work when promoting your group or activity.  The session will focus on free or low cost promotion, while making the most of the resources that are already in the community.  

Social media

Queens Head, Hethersett, NR9 3DD - 30 May 2019
Arrive from 6:30pm for a 7pm start.  This session will give participants the opportunity to explore social media and its uses and apply that new knowledge to their own groups and organisations.  

Funding options for community groups

The Old Feathers, Framingham Pigot, NR14 7QB - 20 June 2019
Please note - change of date from the last Thursday due to Royal Norfolk Show.  Arrive from 6:30pm for a 7pm start.  This session will look at different funding options, where it is available, when to apply and which funds are most suitable for different groups.  Guest speakers.
