The work of the Planning Policy Team is about more than simply preparing planning policy documents to guide development. The team also has a role to play in helping to deliver development in accordance with the policies in the adopted South Norfolk Local Plan and in ensuring that appropriate infrastructure is delivered to support growth. This is mainly done through the work of the Greater Norwich Growth Board who publish an annual Growth Programme identifying the infrastructure projects to be prioritised for delivery each financial year.
We have a Community Infrastructure Levy in place which will help to fund the delivery of infrastructure across South Norfolk.
We are also committed to a number of initiatives designed to bring business to South Norfolk, including the Norwich Research Park Enterprise Zone, the Greater Norwich Food Enterprise Zone and the Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor. Find out more about these initiatives and other business opportunities in South Norfolk.
In addition, a report has been prepared for the Council which looks at issues affecting the delivery of housing across Norfolk. The report does not have any formal standing but explores the issue of housing delivery from both the developer and local authority perspective.
