We are setting our budget for 2019/20 and we value your views on our priorities.
The main sources of income for Local Authorities, including South Norfolk Council, come from central government funding, council tax, business rates and the income from chargeable services.
With reducing funding from central government, the Council must continue to find additional income or savings in order to deliver a balanced budget.
Our finances are finely balanced and a 1% increase in Council Tax contributes just £71,000 towards an expenditure budget of £30.5 million, which covers 86 different services including housing, benefits administration, homelessness prevention, Early Help, leisure, refuse collection, planning and many more.
