Our Community Sports Fund helps young people to excel in their chosen sporting activity and provides support to voluntary coaches.
We offer grants through three schemes:
The Community Coach Development Bursary scheme aims to provide volunteer coaches working within South Norfolkâs communities with financial assistance to progress further up the coaching ladder and undertake National Governing Body Level 1, 2 and 3 coaching qualifications. The intention of the scheme is to improve coaching standards within local sports clubs and organisations by providing better qualified coaches who will in turn improve standards of performance. It is hoped that this will increase the number of young people from South Norfolk that go on to gain county and regional representation in their chosen sport.
The Elite Athlete Fitness Support Scheme aims to support South Norfolk residents aged between 16 and 18 (or 16 and 25 for disabled athletes) currently competing at national and international level by providing a 12 month complimentary gym membership for use at Diss Leisure Centre, Wymondham Leisure Centre or Long Stratton Leisure Centre.
