Pests we can treat
If you have an infestation of rats or mice, the only consistent method of control is by poisons. We offer a pest control service to do this, carried out by professional Pest Control Officers.
On the day of treatment, you are asked to be present to receive a treatment record detailing relevant health and safety information.
During the treatment we want the rodents to find the poison we put down more attractive than anything else. Therefore, to make your treatment successful you should make sure there are no other sources of food to distract them.
- If you have been feeding birds it is wise to stop while the treatment is carried out
- Do not leave animal food down on the ground
- Keep outdoor food (e.g. pet food or your home grown fruit and vegetables) in sealed containers.

Before we carry out the treatment, we ask that you treat all pets, wash their bedding and thoroughly vacuum the household including all soft furnishings. The maximum amount of floor space needs to be cleared for the chemical to be effective (including under beds / children's toys / DVD's etc). Please be aware that our treatment may be less effective on hard floors. The property will need to be vacated for at least three hours whilst the chemical dries. We then recommend that you vacuum the house after five days. Complete control of the infestation may take several weeks. The Pest Control Officer will give further advice on the day of the treatment.
If you are asthmatic or have breathing difficulties, it is recommended that you leave the area being treated until completed.

Some agricultural practices, most notably intensive chicken and livestock housing, may create the right breeding conditions for flies which can then become a nuisance to surrounding properties. We will investigate reports of nuisance flies under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. We will work with local farmers to try and resolve the problem.
We can investigate a build-up of rubbish which is likely to provide a source of food and shelter for vermin such as rats and mice.
We will visit and assess whether the build-up of rubbish is likely to cause a problem. If it is we will work with the resident responsible to improve the situation.
