South Norfolk Council’s next award-winning Reuse and Recycle event will be held on Monday 18 March at Diss Community Centre.
The Council will also be collecting the usual items, including unwanted textiles, furniture, books and board games along with toasters, kettles, TVs, hairdryers, video recorders and other small electrical items, whether working or not.
Items can be dropped off between 9am and 3pm, and if they pass onsite safety checks, will be available to be taken away for reuse between 11am and 3pm.
South Norfolk Councillor Kay Mason Billig, Cabinet Member for Environment and Recycling said. “Our Reuse and Recycle events are designed to provide local communities with the opportunity to prevent materials that could be reused or recycled from going to landfill. They also serve as a great opportunity for the community to work together to make a real difference and protect our local environment.”
All electrical items will be safety tested and if they pass made available to take away for reuse.
At the end of each event, all items not taken away for reuse are donated to local and national charities.
