Funding boost for South Norfolk On Show

An annual event that celebrates everything about South Norfolk, is set to receive a £12,000 funding boost from the Arts Council.
On the 30 June, the Council will throw open its doors for the tenth year of South Norfolk on Show, an event in Long Stratton that attracts thousands of people, keen to enjoy a great day out for all the family.
The Arts Council grant will support the district Council to deliver South Norfolk on Show over the next three years to enhance the quality of the artistic contribution and will be used to provide high quality performances and arts workshops.
This year, the theme is health and wellbeing and the funding will be used to help motivate and inspire people to take part in new activities that will positively impact on their health and well-being in their own communities.
Cabinet Member Keith Kiddie, said:
“Every year thousands of people enjoy this wonderful event, and this funding will help to make South Norfolk on Show 2019, the best one yet.
“The funding means we can add to the already great variety of entertainment on offer for all ages. There will also be the usual fantastic variety of local food, craft stalls and much more.”
South Norfolk on Show is just one of two projects in Norfolk which are partnered with the Arts Council. The event is also funded by local partner organisations, such as Saffron Housing who have this year increased their contribution to £1,500, and smaller local businesses who produce printed t-shirts, road signage disability access vehicles, seating and a whole host more besides.
