Meet Miss Mermaid Norfolk 2019 at Wymondham Leisure Centre

Hannah Griffiths, 36 from Acle, Norfolk has been awarded the title of Miss Mermaid Norfolk 2019 and is being sponsored by South Norfolk Council's Swim School to represent the County at Miss Mermaid UK finals at Madejski Stadium on Saturday 5th October.

Miss Mermaid UK is an eco-friendly national competition where mermaids compete in underwater photo shoots and swimming, followed by a pageant style show, eco creative round, talent and ball gown rounds. The winner is crowned Miss Mermaid UK.

Hannah is raising vitally needed funds for Sea Shepherd UK, a marine conservation charity who conserve and protect the UK's and world marine ecosystems, habitats and species.

Hannah said: “I'm a woman with a mermaid soul, I have always loved being in the water and learnt to swim at the age of three. I'm a part time professional mermaid which my absolute passionate of mine.

"It's about spreading some mermaid magic: making people smile but delivering an important environmental message from the deep too."

“There's so many little things we can do to make an impact, recycle more, reuse more, reduce plastic usage, pick up litter and keep our beaches clean.”
