Lockdown grants for local businesses

Local businesses that have been affected by the latest lockdown are being encouraged to apply for support grants from South Norfolk and Broadland District Council.

The Councils have two grants available to all eligible businesses within the districts.

Cabinet Member for South Norfolk Council, Councillor Lisa Neal said: “Supporting the local economy is a priority for the Council and it’s more important than ever that businesses get the help they need.”

Cabinet Member for Broadland District Council, Councillor Jo Copplestone, said: “If you’ve been forced to close or have been severely affected by the latest restrictions, then please get in touch and find out if you are eligible for support.”

Up to £3,000 is available through the Local Restrictions Support Grants for businesses that have had to close under the new national restrictions and are registered to pay business rates.

Additional funding will also be available via the Additional Restrictions Grant to provide further support to businesses over the coming weeks and months. This funding will support some of those businesses impacted by the new national restrictions that won’t qualify for the Local Restrictions Support Grant, due to not being rated or not legally required to close.
