Take part in the consultation on the Greater Norwich Local Plan and have your say on the future development of the area.
The Greater Norwich Local Plan is being created by Broadland District Council, Norwich City Council and South Norfolk Council, working with Norfolk County Council, as the Greater Norwich Development Partnership.
The plan sets out a vision for growth, identifies sites for new homes, jobs and infrastructure, helping communities to grow and prosper, while protecting the area’s unique environment and habitats.
Providing the basis for planning decisions to 2038, the plan sets out opportunities for around 44,500 new homes to meet the needs for housing in both urban and rural areas over the next 18 years. Around 36,500 of those new homes are being carried forward from existing plans, meaning that sites for about 8,000 new homes need to be identified.
Cllr Shaun Vincent, Chair of the Greater Norwich Development Partnership said: “We aim to produce a plan which will help meet local housing and economic growth needs, while at the same time, protecting and enhancing the environment.
“We need your help to make sure the final local plan meets the needs of our communities and would like to hear what you think about the sites in the consultation. We want to grow stronger communities together, so we are inviting everyone to have their say.”
The consultation runs from 29 January until 16 March 2020. To find out more about the plan visit the Greater Norwich Local Plan website: www.gnlp.org.uk
