Council offers grants to support communities

Broadland District Council is asking local groups to apply for Community Grants of up to £300.

The grants, awarded by members of the council for their respective wards, can be spent on a range of things from venue hire, to promotional materials, transport or extra facilities.

Councillor Fran Whymark, portfolio holder for Housing and Wellbeing said “We are pleased to be able to offer this additional help to the wide range of community groups across Broadland. These grants are a fantastic opportunity for the Council to support the invaluable work that these groups do across the district.”

From football teams to food festivals, Community Grants are open to any community group in Broadland to fund activities that benefit residents in the local area.

This could be through encouraging local residents to be fit and active, offering support for mental health and well-being or bringing the community together and fighting isolation and loneliness.

If you think your community group could benefit for a grant of up to £300 you can apply for grant and find full details of the terms and conditions on the council’s website or you can request a form from the Communities Team on 01508 533933 or email Grants@s-norfolk.gov.uk

The deadline for applications is Friday 31st July 2020 or until all the funding has been used.
