Service updates

If you are in need of support or cannot access essential items, please fill in our online form for non-urgent support. If you need to speak to someone immediately, call 01508 533933, Monday to Friday 08:15 - 17:00 and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 - 16:00.

Current status

Homelessness

We will respond to your email as soon as possible and aim to respond within 10 working days.

Please note that we are experiencing very high levels of demand on our service due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We are still offering our full range of services to customers who need assistance with housing issues but at times may need to prioritise customers who have been verified as homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness.

For the safety of staff and customers most of our work is currently being done online or by phone. Please do not visit our offices in Long Stratton other than to drop off documents in our post box.

Care & Repair / Independent Living

Operating a full service but with restrictions on visits in accordance with a COVID-19 visiting procedure and Government guidance and is dependent upon client circumstances. 

For the safety of staff and clients work is undertaken remotely, where possible, using telephone and video calls, photographs, etc.

Property adaptation works are being undertaken in accordance with COVID-19 safe operating procedures and appropriate risk assessments.

Applicants to the system are triaged, recorded for future delivery and equipment provided where relevant and possible.

Housing Standards

Now operating a maximum of 2 people in refuse collection vehicle cabs.

Norfolk County Council has now re-opened all 20 household waste recycling centres across the County but there are some changes to how the sites operate. Please check the Norfolk County Council website before you visit:

Public Toilets

Public toilets in Diss and Long Stratton remain closed for refurbishment.

Community Connectors

Taking referrals from all sources and supporting people remotely or at appropriate social distance. Community Connectors have also re-commenced social prescribing in GP surgeries. Appointments are offered by telephone, Skype or face to face as necessary.

Food Hygiene and Public Safety

We are operating a modified service to reflect the impacts of COVID-19.

Currently we are prioritising action to control the risk of transmission of Coronavirus, this includes visiting businesses to engage, explain, encourage and where necessary enforce compliance with Government Regulations and guidance.

There may be a delay in responding to non-urgent matters.

Environmental and Community Protection (e.g. Fly tipping, Anti-Social Behaviour)

We are continuing to deliver our service adhering to Government guidance to minimise the impact of COVID-19 on our residents.

For the duration of the current national lockdown the service will be prioritising action to ensure adherence to the national regulations to help restrict the spread of the coronavirus

Leisure Centres

Wymondham, Diss, Long Stratton, Kett’s Park and Framingham Earl are due to open from December 2nd, 2020 following the Government announcement and guidance regarding the recent national lockdown.

Leisure will be opening all services and activities under Tier 2 restrictions ensuring all guidance is followed.
