Norwich Research Park Enterprise Zone

South Norfolk is home to the Norwich Research Park one of Europe’s largest research parks with over 12,000 staff and £100 million annual research spend.

The park houses four renowned research organisations including The Sainsbury Laboratory, John Innes Centre, Institute of Food Research and the Earlham Institute (formally known as the Genome Analysis Centre), together with The University of East Anglia and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.     

The focus of the park is ‘Keeping People Healthy’ a new and exciting emerging sector based around:

  • Creating powerful plants
  • Analysing bioactive compounds
  • Understanding the gut health. 

The Norwich Research Park has been awarded Enterprise Zone status, as the park includes 520,000 sqm of development land, ideal for expanding companies needing bespoke office space and research facilities.

For businesses locating on the Enterprise Zone, benefits include business rate discounts of up to £275,000 over five years, simplified planning and access to Superfast Broadband.
