Welcome to the web pages of the Caistor Roman Town Research Project. This site provides information about the archaeological research that is being carried out in and around the Roman town of Venta Icenorum. It will carry regular updates on the project’s progress (through the project newsletters), and will also tell you how you can get involved with different aspects of the research. There are also links to other web resources relating to Norfolk’s heritage.
The Caistor Roman Town Research Project is a partnership between the University of Nottingham [external link], South Norfolk Council, the Norfolk Archaeological Trust [external link], and the Norfolk Museums and Archaeology Service [external link], working in consultation with English Heritage.
The site is owned by Norfolk Archaeological Trust and is managed in partnership with South Norfolk Council.
