Blue badge parking permits

Summary

Blue parking badges allow cars carrying people who are registered blind or people who have severe walking difficulties to be parked near shops, stations and other facilities. It replaced the Orange Badge Scheme. Blue Badges are issued as existing badges come up for renewal, or as new applications are processed. The Blue Badge is recognised throughout member states of the European Union.

To apply for a Blue Badge parking permit...

You can apply for a permit in a number of ways.

  • Visit the Norfolk County Council's Blue Badge web pages (where you will also find answers to some frequently asked questions).
  • Call their Customer Service Centre on 0844 800 8015.
  • Visit your local library and apply there.
  • Call in to one of the Council Information Centres around the county.
  • Apply yourself online via County Council's online application form.

You will need to supply proof that you need the permit and two passport sized photographs.
