Kickstart is a moped loan scheme to aid work and training opportunities in rural areas. If you are 16-65 year olds, unemployed and have little or no access to public transport and no private transport then you can apply.

If successful you can use a loan moped for up to a year while you are looking for employment or training.

In order to apply for a loan you must also have a provisional licence and be eligible for insurance cover.

If successful you will have to complete a Compulsory Basic Training course before taking to the road. On successful completeion you will be loaned a moped which is fully insured and taxed.

The moped is loaned for a three month period. This can be extended for further three month periods, for up to a year. However, if you become employed in a full-time post, this loan period is reduced to six months.
