Community car schemes

Summary

Community Car Schemes are a non-profit making organised form of car sharing to provide transport for people without access to a car. They are set up in areas with little or no transport and are run by volunteer drivers using their own cars.

Further information

Community Car Schemes

The drivers are organised by a volunteer co-ordinator who lists the drivers and links them with requests for specific journeys. The drivers are paid an agreed mileage rate to cover their running costs and the schemes require the agreement of their town or parish council. The passenger pays half the journey cost of the agreed mileage rate. For more information, please contact the schemes directly via the telephone numbers below.
