Long Stratton Area Action Plan

Summary

Long Stratton will grow between now and 2026. The growth will need to deliver the long awaited bypass. To do this Long Stratton will have at least 1,800 new houses, local employment opportunities, town centre improvements as well as better services and facilities. This growth means new opportunities for Long Stratton and we want to work with local people and businesses, service providers and potential developers to produce an Area Action Plan to guide development up to 2026.

In 2011 the Council consulted on some of the key issues for the Area Action Plan using a leaflet and survey that was sent to all households and businesses in Long Stratton and the surrounding parishes. The Council has also undertaken two consultations on the sites put forward by landowners and developers as potential locations for the new housing and employment.

We have now used the results of these consultations to prepare a detailed draft Area Action Plan document for you to comment on. The consultation period runs from Monday 20 May to Friday 26 July 2013 and all responses need to be received at the Council by 5pm on Friday 26 July.

The consultation is accompanied by an interim Sustainability Appraisal report, including tables which show how we have assessed the sites put forward for development. These can also be downloaded below.
