Summary
Along with Broadland District and Norwich City Councils, we are currently preparing a joint Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA). The assessment is designed to find out what land is available for new housing. Full details of this can be found on the Greater Norwich Development Partnership (GNDP) website [external link].

A joint Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) is being prepared using a methodology adopted by the Greater Norwich Development Partnership (GNDP), which covers the Broadland, Norwich and South Norfolk areas.
This methodology was produced in accordance with Government guidance in Planning Policy Statement 3: Housing (November 2006) and the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessments Practice Guidance (July 2007).
The SHLAA will form part of the evidence base for the Joint Core Strategy, also being produced by the GNDP, and other Local Development Documents that allocate land for housing. The SHLAA will also eventually replace the adopted South Norfolk Urban Capacity Study (published in May 2006).
