This building forms part of a group of outbuildings to the rear of Costessey Park House, and is probably the one which is in the worst condition having suffered extensive fire damage. It is attributed to the architect Sir John Soane.
Previous permissions granted for conversion of the stables and adjacent buildings to offices expired in 2007. The building is in need of some consolidation to prevent further deterioration of the fabric.
