Play Rangers

Summary

Our Play Rangers help create safe and fun environments to encourage children to play freely in parks and open spaces. Special activity sessions and a wealth of ideas are on offer at various locations across the district.

Don’t forget to make a regular visit to this page for details of forthcoming Ranger activities.

Further information

Our Play Rangers hold fun sessions all year round for children of all ages to join in. They have a mobile bank of play equipment and encourage children to get involved in a host of activities including, dodgeball, giant jenga, snakes and ladders, volleyball, frisbee, stuck-in-the-mud, skittles, tennis and many more games.

Their jobs have been funded by the Big Lottery Fund as part of the £200,000 awarded to South Norfolk Council in 2007 for its 3 year ‘Raising the Game’ project to boost children’s play.

The Rangers are also looking for people interested in becoming Volunteer Play Rangers to work with them to help organise play activities in their communities. For more information call the Rangers on 01508 533820.

Our Play Rangers will be in the following locations...

Long Lane, Stoke Holy Cross, NR14 8LY
Tuesday 14 February, 1pm - 3pm

Bellrope Lane, Wymondham, NR18 0QX
Monday 24th October, 1pm - 3pm

For Play Ranger events children should wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions on the day and bring a drink. Please ensure children bring sun tan lotion if required.

Due to the open access, free play policy, Play Rangers can not ensure children will stay on site and children are free to come and go as they please. In the event of an emergency, every effort will be made to contact a parent. However, if a child has an accident or is taken ill, a member of staff may call an ambulance.
