Beijing handover to London
South Norfolk was awarded a London 2012 Olympic flag to celebrate the official handover of the Olympics from China to Great Britain. The handover ceremony took place at South Norfolk House council offices on Sunday 24 August 2008. The flag went on tour around schools within the district and featured in special ‘Olympic’ themed assemblies to include a focus on different cultures, sport and what to expect in 2012.
