Reconstruction of how Caistor Roman Town may have looked in the 4th century AD.Welcome to the educational site on the Roman town at Caistor St Edmund, near Norwich. This site has been developed to help teach the history of Roman Britain, as part of Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum. It includes background material that can be used by teachers who may wish to take pupils both to the site and to the display at Norwich Castle  (click on 'Teaching resources' below).

The site, owned by the Norfolk Archaeological Trust [external link] and managed in partnership with South Norfolk Council, was the capital of Roman Norfolk from the 1st to 4th centuries AD. It is open to the public at all times without charge.
