Leisure Passport

Summary

The Leisure Passport offers reduced price admission to leisure facilities both within and outside South Norfolk for people who are:

  • Getting income-based job seekers allowance;
  • Getting income support;
  • Getting working tax credit (not child tax credit);
  • Getting council tax benefit (not 25% reduction for single occupier), or;
  • Dependents and partners of anyone who qualifies for the above.

It also gives reduced admission to:

  • Fostered children;
  • Over-60s;
  • Registered disabled;
  • 6th Formers, and;
  • Students in full time education.

How to apply for a Leisure Passport

  1. Read the guidance notes (under 'Further information' below, or download the leaflet), then download and print the application form (below);
  2. Fill out the form, which asks for:
    - your name & contact details, and;
    - details of your eligibility (e.g. which benefits you are receiving etc.).
  3. Sign & date the declaration if you live in South Norfolk and you get housing and/or council tax benefit. If you live outside South Norfolk, you'll need to get documentary evidence of your entitlement from your own council [see a map of the South Norfolk district];
  4. Return the application form to:
    - Business Support Team
    - Leisure Services
    - South Norfolk Council
    - Swan Lane
    - Long Stratton
    - Norwich NR15 2XE.
  5. Make sure you include:
    - a passport-sized photo for every person named on the form;
    - proof of eligibility (if you haven't signed the declaration), and;
    - a stamped addressed envelope.

Where you can use the Leisure Passport

Blue cards are given to South Norfolk residents and yellow cards to non-residents. If you have a yellow card you can only use it at venues or activities inside our district (see a map of the district), and you will have to apply to your local council for a concession card for use within your own area.

Conditions of use

  1. To obtain reduced charges you must produce your Leisure Passport at each facility and for each activity.
  2. The card cannot be used for group bookings.
  3. Anyone accompanying a Leisure Passport holder will only receive concessionary rates if they hold their own card.
  4. The card may only be used by the person whose name and photograph appear on the front.
  5. A card must be surrendered if you cease to be entitled to it. Let us know as soon as your circumstances change and return the card to: Business Support Team, Leisure Services, South Norfolk Council, Swan Lane, Long Stratton, NR15 2XE.
  6. South Norfolk Council reserves the right to withdraw the card from a user who makes a false application or abuses the scheme.
  7. A card will become invalid if defaced or altered.
  8. The Leisure Passport will last for one year except in the case of over 60s where they will last for three years.
  9. When the Passport is due to expire you will need to re-apply by completing and returning a new application.
