Further information

Photograph of the multi-ability trail leading to the meadow of Poringland WoodPoringland wood is used for ‘quiet recreational use’ and has become an increasingly popular venue for dog walkers and those looking for a pleasant walk in beautiful countryside.

The wood stretches over 10 hectares and has provided the venue for many community activities, such as the hedge planting day, as well as providing a superb educational resource for Framingham Earl High School next door.

During the short time that this site has been open to the public, a lot of work has been done to make it more accessible to the public, not only cutting back hedges and trees, but also building a clear walkway for wheelchair and pushchair users.
