Volunteers & voluntary wildlife wardens

Summary

Owl

South Norfolk Conservation Volunteers are involved in all the different aspects of hands-on management of our wildlife areas.

Hedge laying, boardwalk building and tree planting are all included in the various activities carried out across South Norfolk by our volunteers.

The Voluntary Wildlife Warden Scheme is for those people who visit any of our sites regularly. Our Rangers cannot be on-site 24 hours a day, and therefore can miss some important issues, whether they be vandalism, fly tipping or sightings of species.

Our Voluntary Wildlife Wardens are an important link to on-site management.

If you're interested in becoming a wildlife warden...

Further information

Being a Wildlife Warden can be as involved or distant as suits you, all you need is an interest in wildlife, even if you have little or no experience. What we would like you to do is keep an eye on the countryside for us, reporting anything of interest or concern to us.

In return for this, we will be organising several talks and training days, as well as site visits and guided walks, which you will be welcome to attend. Topics as diverse as Plant Identification and Landscape Character will be covered.

All you need to be involved with South Norfolk’s Conservation Volunteers is energy and time.

We have Volunteer days on all of our sites during the year, and no experience is necessary, we will provide the tools and the expertise.

Interested? Get in touch - our contact details are below.
