Further information

The Norwich Fringe Project

The Norwich Fringe Project responds to issues which affect the area's wildlife, landscape and recreational value. The project area extends to a four mile radius from the centre of Norwich to the fringe.

The Project works with local communities, parish councils, schools, societies and youth groups, protecting and enhancing wildlife areas, encouraging visitors and providing and improving information about the area.

The Upper Waveney Valley Project

The Upper Waveney Valley Countryside Project was set up in 1987 to protect and improve the landscape, wildlife habitats and countryside amenities of this special area. Project staff work closely with landowners, parish councils and others to achieve these aims.

A programme of countryside events and volunteer tasks takes place throughout the year and a newsletter is published to keep everyone informed about the work of the Project. Mid Suffolk District Council, Norfolk County Council, South Norfolk Council, Suffolk County Council and Waveney District Council support the Project.

The Wensum Valley Project

On public rights of way and permissive paths within the Wensum Valley Project area, we carry out:

  • improvements to infrastructure styles, steps and surfacing;
  • maintenance and mowing;
  • waymarking of routes, and;
  • guided/interpretive walks.
