Summary

We aim to offer everyone in South Norfolk the opportunity of a decent home and thereby improve the health, welfare, well being and quality of life of everyone who lives here. If you privately rent or own your home, we can offer advice plus financial help with repairs and adaptations. We provide:

  • Loans to help your home meet the Decent Homes Standard and grants to help people with a disability make necessary changes to their homes
  • A Care and Repair Service for people over the age of 60
  • A Handyperson Service
  • Advice on repair problems between you and your landlord if you rent your home;
  • Housing Health and Safety Risk Assessments (HHSRS) and enforcement action where it is needed

The Care and Repair Service

This helps people over the age of 60 who want to remain independent and to continue to live in their own home. The service offers:

  • Advice, practical and financial help
  • Links to other support services
  • Advice and support in getting work done from minor repairs to major renovation work
  • Help with works needed because of disability and funded through a disabled facilities grant
  • Help with disabled facilities grant work is available to people of all ages, not just those over 60
  • A Handyperson service for small repairs around the home at a reasonable cost

Tenant landlord repair issues

If you are a tenant and are having problems with your landlord carrying out repairs please contact our Housing Standards team  for further advice or for a home visit.

Energy Efficiency measures
