Further information

About Home Options

Home Options lets you apply for the housing option of your choice instead of having to wait for an offer from one of the three councils in the partnership (South Norfolk, Norwich City or Braodland Council).

All properties are advertised on the Home Options website [external link], through public access computers in libraries across the district, on digital telivision and in a weekly newsletter that you can pick up. A range of other housing options will also be available that you can apply for. These will gradually be added over the coming months, but not many will be available immediately.

The application process

When you have applied to the Housing Register (which you can do at the Home Options website [external link]) we will assess your application and put you in a band that reflects your housing need. We will send you your band, your bidding reference number and a full scheme user guide in the post.

Further information and guidance is available on the Home Options website [external link].

Bidding for properties

You can bid for properties in a number of ways:

  • Online using the Home Options website;
  • Using the automated 24 hour phone hotline;
  • By sending us a text message;
  • Through digital television, or;
  • By using one of the public access computers in libraries where staff are trained to help.

Full details of how to use each of the channels can be found in the Home Options User Guide [external link]. You will also get a Home Options User Guide sent to you when you register.

To help you decide which properties to bid for you can see what priority of applicant was successful for recently let homes. This information will be available both in the newsletter and on the website.
