Garden waste labels

Summary

Garden labels are no longer available to buy - the system has been replaced by the brown bin service. Any labels that you already have will still be collected by our refuse crews. They will need to be attached to a black sack and placed out with the black/grey bin.

Further information

Why have the garden waste labels gone?

There are a number of reasons why we have phased out waste labels:

  • a change to European legislation means we can no longer send garden waste to landfill;
  • we all have a contribution to make towards how we manage our rubbish and help reduce environmental damage;
  • there are alternative ways of dealing with garden waste, and;
  • we have a desire to sustain and improve the environment in which we live.
