Additional bins policy
Summary
We are happy to provide additional recycling bins to households as we are keen to promote recycling as much as possible.
We will also consider providing additional rubbish bins to some households.

South Norfolk Council works with residents to help them reduce, reuse and recycle their waste.
A standard set of bins (one 240 litre recycling bin and one 240 litre rubbish bin) is enough to contain the waste produced by an average household of four.
For larger families, South Norfolk Council will consider the provision of more domestic rubbish waste capacity where we are satisfied the household is doing all it can to reduce, reuse and recycle.
If a family requests additional recycling bin space we would provide this for domestic waste from any size of household as we are keen to promote recycling as much as possible.
All households requesting additional bin space must fill in an additional bin space application form (see above).
The Council carries out regular reviews of any additional bins in the district, to ensure only households entitled to additional bin space are in receipt of this discretionary service.
