Save on the cost of driving

The rural nature of our district means that car journeys are often unavoidable. Your driving style can significantly influence the quantity of fuel that you use on these journeys. Trials undertaken by the Energy Saving Trust estimate that ‘smarter’ or ‘eco’ driving techniques can save drivers between £200 - £300 per year in fuel costs. See the ten top tips from the Energy Saving Trust on how you can reduce your CO2 emissions and save yourself money on fuel.

Reduce your water bills

Water is a precious resource. East Anglia is the driest region in the country and there are already severe constraints on the ability of Norfolk to produce sufficient water supplies to meet growing demand. Following some simple water-saving tips will make sure we use water wisely, as well as helping to protect our natural environment. This is also important as projections of future weather patterns highlight higher temperatures and longer dry periods in the summer. These are likely to increase pressure on water resources and impact on both groundwater and surface sources. For tips on how to save water visit the Environment Agency's website.
