Homelessness Strategy
Summary
The Greater Norwich homelessness strategy 2011-14 was adopted in July 2011.
Our vision is: “To ensure that services are in place to prevent and respond appropriately to homelessness, providing a range of suitable and targeted options that place the customer at the centre.”
To deliver the vision the following strategic aims have been established:
- Deliver early intervention to prevent homelessness
- Placing the customer at the centre of service delivery
- Maximising resources and effective partnership working
- Provide a wide range of sustainable housing solutions to people at risk of being homeless
The strategy and its action plan will be monitored by the Greater Norwich Homelessness Strategy Steering Group which includes statutory and voluntary sector members. The GNHP Strategic lead officers of the three district councils (Broadland District Council, Norwich City Council and South Norfolk Council) will have key monitoring roles and will regularly update elected members and partners on the progress of the strategy.
