South Norfolk Council is upgrading its toilets across the district in February, including the introduction of water management systems and energy saving light fittings.

The work will affect the toilets at Loddon Staithe, Loddon Church Plain, Bullock Fair Close in Harleston, Diss Mere, Wymondham, Hingham and Long Stratton.

Councillor David Bills, who leads for the council on the environment, said:

“We approach running the council by providing facilities we can be proud of and this applies to our public toilets.

"We're spending £28,000 on bringing these up to date to make them clean, safe, secure, and well decorated. We will also be introducing water management systems, and energy saving light fittings."

The refurbishment will mean that the toilets will have to close at certain times during some of February and signs have gone up alerting residents.
