Review of polling districts and polling places 2007
Summary
We carried out a review of polling districts and polling places (including polling stations) in South Norfolk, under the terms of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (Section18) as amended by the Electoral Administration Act 2006 (Section 16). Under the new regulations we must do this every four years.
The consultation on the review closed on 17 September 2007, and we are no longer accepting any further comments. If you're interested in finding out more about the review and why we did it, read the information below. A Polling District & Places Working Group has also been set up, which is looking at the comments we received in the consultation. You can also download the agenda and minutes of their meetings here.

Further information
Why did we carry out this review?
We conducted a general review of polling districts and polling places in our area, as reqiured by the Representation of the People Act 1983 (Section18) as amended by the Electoral Administration Act 2006 (Section 16). The new regulations mean each local authority has to carry out a review on a regular four-year cycle.
About the consultation
The consultation period ran from Monday 30 July to Monday 17 September 2007.
We looked for comments on any aspect of the allocated polling area or polling station used, and invited any representations from anyone who is interested.
Who we wanted to hear from
- Local political parties, District & County Councillors and parish councils;
- Residents;
- Anyone who has particular expertise in access to premises or facilities for people with disabilities, and;
- Local community groups.
Any elector in our area can make representation, which may include proposals for specified alternative polling places.
District, ward & parish boundaries
This review will not include any changes to District ward, Parish or Parish ward boundaries, only polling districts within parishes and issues around polling places and stations.
Details of the existing polling districts and polling places are available for public inspection at the Electoral Services Office at South Norfolk Council, along with the relevant maps.
