You wait all year for Father Christmas...then 250 turn up at once!

This is another charity function which Bunwell people do so well. This all helps to keep community spirit at a high level and people working together for the benefit of the village

A Norfolk village is bracing itself for an invasion of Santas in the week before Christmas!
Children in Bunwell, South Norfolk will be rubbing their eyes in disbelief as up to 250 Santas with white beards and red suits run and walk around the village for Quidenham Hospice and other local charities.
The Santa race has been organised by the Bunwell Strollers (UK affiliated) with the help of South Norfolk Council. It will be started by Norfolk Athletics Development Officer and UK athlete Paul Evans.
The run and walk has been sponsored by Frank Dale Foods, and is expected to draw participants of all ages and abilities.
The Strollers are now accepting entries at £10 for adults and £5 for children (5 to 12 years).
Registered runners will receive a free Santa suit and commemorative medal, together with a personalised running number if registering before 25th November.
Councillor Beverley Spratt, who represents Bunwell at South Norfolk Council, said:
"This is another charity function which Bunwell people do so well. I thank Nigel Seaward and Karen Hoolahan and everyone associated with the fun run for their efforts - and the sponsors.
"This all helps to keep community spirit at a high level and people working together for the benefit of the village."
Nigel Seaward, Chairman of Bunwell Strollers, said:
"The response of so many local people has been tremendous. This is another example of our renowned community spirit and how we are working with other communities and partners in arranging events for worthy causes, thus ensuring our community stays firmly on the map.
"I would like to thank many local people have come together to organise the event and are extremely grateful to Frank Dale Foods for their support."
