A shake up in the leadership of the South Norfolk Alliance will lead to more affordable housing, healthier communities, better opportunities for young people, and better economic prospects for the area. That’s the view of Councillor Vivienne Clifford-Jackson, Leader of South Norfolk Council and Chair of the Alliance on the eve of a meeting today.

The South Norfolk Alliance meets on Wednesday 21st in South Norfolk House, to start a new chapter in partnership working on the district. The Alliance is a partnership of many public, private and voluntary agencies working together to improve the quality of life in the communities of South Norfolk.

The partnership has streamlined its organisation to make things happen. There is now an Executive Board of 10 members drawn from the whole partnership, and other groups of partners will work together to deliver projects.

Councillor Clifford-Jackson said: “Today marks an important day for the Alliance and for South Norfolk. We have agreed to work closely together for the benefit of the area, and the Board is putting together its plans for the future. But we want to develop the strength of our partnership working with the community - that is vital.

"We are consulting now with the public on our plans and would very much like to hear from residents and businesses what they think should be the focus of our attention over the next 3 years. If you have any views on housing; health; climate change; the economy; transport or anything else please get in touch, or use our website to let us know what you think. Have your say in our future.”

The Alliance will publish its plans for the area in July, in a new Sustainable Community Strategy.
