Railway Station Strategy on display
Released on 04 April 2005
A new transport strategy for Wymondham Railway Station has been drafted and displays explaining the proposals are coming to Wymondham next week.
From April 4 to April 8 you can view the information boards at the Wymondham Town Council Offices and at Wymondham station.
And on Friday April 8, a team of officers from South Norfolk Council will be on hand to answer your questions – between 10am and noon at the station and between 2pm and 4pm at Wymondham Town Council.
South Norfolk Council has been asked to consult locally on the plans, which are part of Norfolk County Council’s county-wide transport strategy.
Alan Gomm, Planning Policy Manager, South Norfolk Council said:
“Although we are not decision-makers in this process we want to give local people the chance to get their views across to the County Council. As well as coming to see the display we will be asking people to send in their views to us.”
Below are some of the issues on which this strategy focuses:
- Improving parking provision at the station, while respecting the historic nature of the site
- Providing safer access to the station by foot, cycle, car and bus
- Improving access within the station for disabled passengers
- Improvements to the highway network surrounding the station
