How much can you save?
Released on 13 September 2005
South Norfolk Council, in partnership with Broadland District Council’s Energy Efficiency team, is suggesting residents get in contact with the HEAT Norfolk campaign, to find out how they can save on heating bills for their homes.
Cllr Rev Clive Hudson, Chair of the Safeguarding the Environment Policy Development Panel, said:
“With some fuel companies recently announcing increases in their prices, we are glad to be able to recommend the HEAT campaign to residents in the district.
HEAT provides large grants and heavily discounted prices to insulate loft and cavity walls – and with these in place, you can save as much as 35% on your heating bills. It is estimated the average poorly insulated house wastes around £200 per year on fuel.
“And as well as saving you money, taking up this offer will also enable you to help our environment, in the fight to reduce levels of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere.”
Anna Warmington of the HEAT Norfolk Campaign said:
"The HEAT Norfolk campaign is designed not only to make homes more energy efficient by making them cheaper to heat, but will also benefit the environment. People may not realise that the average home pumps out more carbon dioxide every year than a car - so to be able to reduce fuel bills and at the same time reducing pollution levels locally, is a real advantage.
“We would like to invite homeowners and private tenants across South Norfolk to contact the HEAT Norfolk Campaign hotline so we can assess the grant levels they are entitled to. Please call HEAT Norfolk on 0800 093 40 50.”
