Have your say on healthcare

Released on 19 October 2004

South Norfolk Council’s Older People’s Forum meets on Wednesday 27 October - inviting people in the district over the age of 50, to “Come and have your say.”

This meeting’s topic is healthcare and the guest speaker is Chris Humphris, the Chief Executive of Southern Norfolk Primary Care Trust. He will talk about Better Care for Norfolk and will then take part in an open question and answer session.

Ann Baker, one of the original steering committee group members, hopes a large number of older people will come along:

“The Older People’s Forum is still at an early stage of its development and this is our launch meeting. We have a little formal business to attend to first – adopting the constitution of the group and electing the Management Committee - but the main point of the Forum is to give people over the age of 50, the chance to air their views.

“You will be free to ask the guest speaker about healthcare issues and to draw his attention to any difficulties you face.

“Do come along, we’d love to see you there.”

The meeting is being held at South Norfolk Council from 2pm. Councillor Amanda Smith, the Chair of the Forum and the council’s Older People’s Champion, will welcome the delegates.
