Here comes the bus!
Released on 17 September 2004
On Tuesday 21 September, the Norfolk Energy Bus will begin a three-day visit to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in Colney.
South Norfolk Council working with the Broadland Energy Efficiency team, invites everyone who wants information about how to save money on energy, to come along.
Paul Bourgeois from the Broadland Energy Team said:
“It’s like holding an energy efficiency surgery. My colleagues and I will be on hand to answer all your questions about energy efficiency, on a one-to one basis.
“We will offer you advice and explain the schemes you can tap into to save money and energy, while helping the environment by cutting down on energy consumption and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
“Thank you to the hospital for hosting the event – it’s a great venue for the bus, offering everyone who visits or works in the hospital, the chance to pop in and see us.”
The Energy Bus is on site from 21st to the 23rd September inclusive, and it will be stationed outside the front of the west atrium of the hospital, from 9:30am to 5pm each day.
Staff from the local Energy Efficiency Advice Centre (EEAC), the CRed initiative and the Warm Front Team will also be at the event every day.
Paul Bourgeois added that there will be plenty to see:
“As well as one-to-one information, you will be able to see demonstrations of low energy lighting, find out more about insulation, solar and wind power, see a display of energy efficient light bulbs that dispels the myth that they are all too big for light fittings! And we will have free energy-efficient light bulbs to give away.
“There will also be information about the benefits of reducing energy use for the environment, as well as the social and economic benefits and, if that’s not enough - there will even be a raffle to win a solar powered radio!”
Marcus Armes from CRed said: “CRed is very grateful to our partners, South Norfolk Council and the Broadland Energy Efficiency Team, for the opportunity to meet the public, and to enhance the excellent work both of these organisations are undertaking to reduce carbon emissions and people’s energy bills”.
