From Strauss to street theatre!
Released on 05 August 2004
Last weekend, as part of South Norfolk Council’s summer programme of arts, Chamber Orchestra Anglia performed dance music from Strauss - this weekend we are inviting families into a world of madcap, musical, vaudeville, mayhem!
Heidi Hadley, Cultural Regeneration Manager at South Norfolk Council said:
“We promised a wide variety of events for all tastes during our Waterside Weekends summer programme! Last weekend we brought you Strauss, Brahms, Stravinsky, and Dvorak and ballroom dancers Bruce Lait and Crystal Main. Hundreds of people came to listen and watch, and some even took up the challenge to learn how to waltz. (see photos enclosed)
“This weekend you are invited to join Organzola and Friends for something completely different! It’s street theatre and musical madness; it’s fun, excitement and really big belly laughs for you and your children!
“You choose which songs Organzola perform, you'll meet the good and evil toys, experience the Elvis Garden of Earthly Delights and cringe as the Lah Revolutionaries, (the suited musical freedom fighters!) trill some delightfully awful ditties!
“For a street-style, interactive, marvelous medley of chaotic concoctions, come to Loddon Staithe on Saturday 7th August from 6-8pm.”
