Released on 06 May 2004

Last night (Wednesday May 5th) the team which was chosen to represent South Norfolk in the county finals of the EDP Young Enterprise Business award, became the County champions.

The eight Wymondham High School students won the award for their company Spider in the Bath, which makes and sells decorated drinking glasses. They set up and now run the company themselves.

They were also awarded the FenderCare Presentation Award for the presentation they gave to the judges on the night.

They will now go on to represent Norfolk in the regional finals on June 21 at Churchill College in Cambridge.

Stuart Shreeve - Chairman of Southern Norfolk Area Young Enterprise Board - said he was proud of their achievement:

"We were delighted that our Southern Norfolk Area Young Enterprise winners scooped the top prize at the County Hall Finals. Congratulations to Wymondham High School. Their sheer dedication and enthusiasm together with the assistance they received from their teacher and Young Enterprise advisers has proved to be very successful. We are sure this experience will contribute to their future careers. We wish them the very best for the regional finals in June."

The board is made up of:

Chair - Stuart Shreeve (Somers Specialised Vehicles Ltd) Richard Ross (Chadwicks Ltd) Sonia Herne (South Norfolk Council) Tim Bacon (South Norfolk Council) Gail Winwood (Taramis Human Resources - independent HR Consultant) Gillian Artis (Gillian Artis Associates - Business Support Consultant)

Sonia Herne from South Norfolk Council's Economic and Community Development team, said:
