£1,502.91 on its way to Children In Need

Released on 19 November 2003

A fantastic fun event at Long Stratton Leisure Centre raised over £1,500 for BBC’s Children in Need on Saturday 15th November.

Hosted by Graham Andrew – better know as party entertainer FUNFORCE EXPERIENCE, highlights of the evening included a horror story acted out by members of the audience, an Ugly Child competition – which saw children competing to pull the funniest face, and a Penalty competition offering audience members the chance to compete for a football signed by the Norwich City FC team.

Tickets for the event (which also included Hula Hoops, an auction, a raffle and a disco) cost £5.00. 250 tickets were sold – the maximum for the Leisure Centre. And 15 staff from the centre waited tables and gave their time free of charge.

The total raised also included the money collected by Duty Manager Jet Chartier (pictured helping out on the night) – for a sponsored 10-mile run she completed last month.

Simon Bellamy, Leisure Centre Manager said: “A big thank you to all the staff and everyone who took part, and well done on raising such a great amount of money for Children in Need.”
