South Norfolk Council is bringing Children's Outdoor Theatre to seven of the Council's play area sites during the long, hot holiday break - Newton Flotman, Diss, Costessey, Wymondham, Hingham, Hethersett and Chedgrave.

Starting on Friday July 28 and finishing on Friday September 1, each fun-packed performance lasts about an hour.

On Friday 18 August there is double the fun - two performances - one at 11am and one at 3pm. And the performances on Friday 11th and 25th incorporate sign language.

Heidi Bellamy, South Norfolk Council's Cultural Development Manager said:

"School's out and the weather is wonderful for a season of outdoor theatre magic, so I urge all parents to make dates in their diaries and get their children to these Friday afternoons of fun. It's no excuse to say that there is nothing to do in the holidays!

"We want to break down the barriers which say theatre is for grown-ups only. We are bringing the magic, drama and fun of the stage to more and more of our residents - especially the young.

"The first of the Outdoor Theatre performances is just the curtain raiser to a summer holiday season of activities for children which means this year's school holidays are set to be busier than ever."

South Norfolk Council's packed holiday programme covers a variety of activities, not just theatre, but sports, arts and much more. It is running at sites from Diss, Costessey, Long Stratton, Harleston to Chedgrave and Framingham Earl.

There are new skateboarding sessions and ‘star:track athletics’ as well as new football sport camp activities. For every sport event, all the Council's coaches are fully trained and have years of valuable experience in their field.
