Professional Services Scheme (business grant)

Summary

This scheme is designed to help new and existing businesses who are currently facing disadvantage in the labour market. The grant, of up to £500, could help you towards the cost of training, the purchase of equipment, or accessing the necessary professional services.


How to apply for a Professional Services Scheme grant

Please note that we only give grants as a last resort. In applying for our grant you will need to give us evidence that you have sought help and funding elsewhere first.

  1. First check if you are eligible and what you might be entitled to by reading the 'further information' section below;
  2. Download and print the guidance notes and the application form (links below - use the Word version to save the application and fill it out 'offline', or PDF to print and fill it out by hand).
  3. Complete the form, which asks for:
    - your details and details of your business;
    - a business plan for how you will use the grant;
    - evidence of your benefit entitlements;
    - evidence of how you have sought assistance elsewhere, and;
    - evidence of two quotations for the service that you are applying for.
  4. Sign and date the form and the declaration;
  5. Return the form, business plan & supporting evidence to the Regeneration Team at the address given at the foot of this page;
  6. We will aim to give you a decision within four weeks of receiving your application.

Can anyone apply?

The scheme is for South Norfolk residents and businesses intending to carry out their business from within the district.

We only give grants as a last resort. Therefore, you must try to source the money from elsewhere first, and evidence of this must be provided.

You will need to show that the service, training or product requested is necessary at the time. This may be on the recommendation of Norwich Enterprise Agency Trust [external link], Norfolk & Waveney Enterprise Services [external link] or Business Link East [external link]. However, certain services are not eligible. To find out more read the guidance notes in the 'downloads' section above.

How much can I apply for?

Grants of up to £500 are available for ONE of the following:

Professional Services – A grant of up to £500 is available to assist new and existing businesses in the district seeking specialist professional advice.

Skills and Training – A grant of £500 per employee up to a maximum of two employees, is available towards the cost of training for companies employing up to 4 people.

Equipment – A grant up of to £500 is available to purchase equipment.
