Community Awards 2012

Summary

Diamond Jubilee heroes

To recognise and celebrate the tremendous amount volunteers give back to the community, we launched our first ever Community Awards, in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Further information

Meet the winners of our Queen's Diamond Jubilee Community Volunteer Awards.

In the extraordinary year of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics and Paralympics, the six winners of our first ever South Norfolk Community Volunteer Awards capture the spirit of volunteering at its very best.

They are also joined by two others given special recognition for the contribution they make – a testament to the tough decisions faced by our judging panel.

Our local heroes stood out from more than 100 nominations received by the Council from across the district. These were drawn up into a shortlist of 18 from which the eight winners were chosen.
